St. Louis Concrete Countertops

Concrete countertops are becoming more and more sought after as people look to find alternatives to granite. Granite is a beautiful product but lets face it, EVERYONE has them. Concrete can be 100 percent customized to any design.

I have been in the decorative concrete industry for 17 years.  I am a perfectionist and after endless hours of studying the worlds best concrete countertop originators and artists, we started testing and felt we were headed toward the direction of finishes we wanted to achieve.  We poured our first countertop about 5 years ago and fell in love with the final finish and knew we found our own unique design.

My goal was to create a countertop that looked like a natural piece of stone.  Over a hundred casts have been done since and we feel we have accomplished what we set after to create.

I feel the most important part of the process is our sealing system.  As a decorative concrete contractor, more dissatisfied clients have called on me to look countertops that have failed than I can count.  Most concrete countertop contractors seal their concrete with a topical sealer like a two part epoxy or two part polyurethane.

Ultimately this is a film forming plastic that they are applying.  These sealers are not designed for a countertop. They will scratch, stain and overall not perform well on the surface.  Not to mention, most of these sealers are not food grade safe.

My system is a internal sealer that closes the pores of the concrete, locking up the surface so tight it will bead liquid and prevent stains from penetrating.  The system we use is also food grade safe, allowing my clients peace of mind knowing that our tops are 100 percent safe to prepare meals on.

If you are looking for a custom countertop, feel free to give us a call for a free estimate.  We would be more than happy to provide you with a beautiful, unique, "one of a kind" countertop specifically tailored to your design and needs.

Most concrete countertop contractors seal their concrete with a topical sealer. Two part epoxy or two part polyurethane.

My system is a reactive sealer that closes the poures of the concrete locking the surface up so that is stain proof and will bead water. It is baked on at around 180 to 220 degrees.

If you are looking for a custom countertop that is one of a kind give us a call we are more than happy to help.
